GAVEA-Offers Business Assistance

Although GAVEA is best known for its work in industry attraction, it is also heavily committed to supporting existing employers through business assistance.

The business assistance program, bolstered by a new county workforce development grant, is being refined to offer greater business contact and industry support.

Small Business Assistance- SCORE

The Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), is a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration which offers small business counseling. The Antelope Valley Chapter of SCORE has 26 member counselors, of which 9 are most active.

The membership contains a number of active small business owners who give of their time and expertise as they can, as well as a number of "counseling professionals" such as accountants and lawyers who pass along valuable experience.

The Antelope Valley Chapter of SCORE conducts counselings for businesses,

primarily start-ups seeking capital.

SCORE counselings on the Internet range from Maine to Florida and Alaska to

Hawaii, with subject matter ranging from inventions, to Veterans benefits,
to computer repair and availability of government grants.
